We continue to expand our commitment to rethinking where and for whom contemporary art can exist, and how it can engage with as well as be shaped by the spaces and audiences it encounters.
Our newest commissioning platform, Public Art for the Tiny Ones, explores contemporary art created for nursery spaces and early childhood.
The first commission, “Bolide-Play” by Traplev, was unveiled in February 2026 in collaboration with Ateliê Cata-Ventos, a daycare center in Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro.
Developed in close dialogue with the school’s pedagogical team, this participatory public artwork integrates directly into the everyday life of the nursery. Based on the artist’s long-term research on almofadas pedagógicas, the work takes the form of modular foam cushions in three colors, connected by velcro.
Both functional and imaginative, the elements can be assembled and reconfigured into structures, pathways, and collective play environments, supporting motor development while opening space for invention.
With this project, TAP continues its commitment to site-responsive, one-to-one scale commissions that engage physical, social, and cultural contexts, extending previous work in hospitals and reclaimed urban green spaces.
Inspired by the playful and relational legacy of Bichos by Lygia Clark, the project approaches learning as a shared, embodied, and imaginative process.
This first edition was supported by PROAP funding from UERJ.

During these times, our institution doesn’t withdraw…
We are grateful for all the support which allowed TAP to host a hero of our time, Dr. Ghassan Abu-Sittah whom we met last year with the launch of our project ‘Public Health at AUBMC in Beirut. With the support of Brazilian philanthropists and allies, we were able to host him for a relief writing residency in Brazil earlier this year. This one-month writing retreat sought to support Dr. Abu-Sittah in chronicling some chapters of his upcoming book “Liberation Medicine” to be published by Penguin Books in which he reflects on his 40 years of experience as a leading specialist and multi-award-winning war surgeon across Gaza, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen.
Although our programming in Beirut has been on hold for the last months, our institution has been committed to fundraising for the Ghassan Abu-Sittah Children’s Fund through a major print sale, the proceeds of which will provide life-saving treatment and rehabilitation for children wounded in war. We have been strengthening our projects in Brazil in the meantime, announcements to come!

or carry us into the worlds they make. Gabriela is one of those very enchanting and prolific Carioca artists. Her work made my eyes and soul shine. A disciplined painterly practice that insists on enchantment, quietly, daily.
Writing about her work (text on ) was about staying close to that vibration. At the gallery last week, with the artist and fantastic!! writer, we spoke of something else.
Of a ventilator noise becoming chant. Of chant turning into light.
Inside Luciana Britto’s modernist home, designed by Rino Levi, a warm, slightly out-of-time energy held the conversation. Thanks for the turnout SP and for your vision. To the birds who whistled loudly with us. To the microphones protesting.
There was energy. I read for Beirut, and for this world where enchantment is a practice of survival & resistance.
The conversation was recorded and available at reels.
Obrigadíssima
What if humanity itself is an illusion, something we rehearse daily while holding tight to what must be done, to what must be cared for, to what must be built anyway.
I keep thinking of the words shared in Kumasi with Prof. & Dean Kąrî’Kạchä SEID’OU, a kind of wise sage, almost shamanic spokesman of a sacred lineage. A voice holding together spirit, pedagogy, and responsibility, carried through Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), founded in the 60s as a vessel of Pan-African spirit, still vibrates across this dreamlike campus.
In Tamale, with, a total artist, I came closer to what feels like a laboratory of the future of the arts, from and for us, unfolding in real time. An endless hack of the hack that is the art world. I will be studying Red Clay Studio in depth.
To a new family met in Ghana, to incredible artists and musicians I look forward to working with, to serious institutions doing it differently, to a scene that speaks to me.
Thank you for holding me so fully in a time of profound despair, sadness, and mourning. This is definitely a highlight among many curatorial research trips I have done over the past decade for.
To and Khadija, to beautiful team, to & for spoiling us,, and the entire community medaase ❤️
