This day’s itinerary consisted of:
- waking up at 6am
- driving in our golf cart at 6:30am to Punta Sur
- watching the sunrise at 6:50am
(we were the first ones there and the colours were magical before the sun started peeking over the horizon)
- went for breakfast at 8am at overlooking the marina 🛥️
- had a little siesta 😴
- went for guacamole at
- shopped in the locals markets
- hosted an activity to make Ojo de Dios (God’s Eye) 🧶
- went for tacos at Taqueria Yuri Centro
- then chilled on the beach and read our books and drink Mezcalitas
- went for dinner at 🤤
I’m not normally a morning person, but the sunrise on Isla Mujeres may have converted me 😍😍 the sunrise was just cliffs and ocean.
The sunset from Playa Norte is also beautiful, but you have Cancun in the backdrop - so try to wake up early for sunrise 🌅 I promise it’s worth it!

We rented a golf cart to explore the island from Mega Ciro’s de Caribe Golf Rental 🚗 and drove to:
- Punta Sur to walk the grounds with beautiful cliffs and Mayan history
- Pantheon with colourful cemetery and cute chapel that sits on the hill decorated in ribbon prayers ⛪️
- rainbow stairs 🌈 with positive messages
But is located central in town and close to everything you need, like:
- El Palmar for coffee ☕️
- Passion Fruits for delicious (& dairy-free) açai bowls 🍌
- Tacos 🌮: Taquería Los Burritos

T-4 days until I trade my snow pants for a bikini!
I still haven’t shared the photos I took while I stayed in Santa Teresa in November 🙈 I was too busy trying to learn how to surf!
I saw some of the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever seen from Playa Hermosa and Playa Santa Teresa in Costa Rica 🇨🇷
*These photos were taken at Playa Hermosa which was super quiet and secluded, whereas Playa Santa Teresa is in town & bustling with people and music - depends on the vibe you’re looking for!
This was the day I arrived in Santa Teresa after driving 4.5 hours from Monteverde. Got there just in time for sunset 🌅
Ps. Rent a car from, which is a local Costa Rican company and much cheaper than Enterprise or Alamo! I rented a 4x4 SUV for half the price than what enterprise was offering!!
Can’t get enough of this country 🥹 still dreaming of the day I move here hehe.

Last year was a year of reminders and reflection.
I feel like I used to be a lot more vulnerable with you all on here, so I wanted to share some of the lessons that really stayed with me 👇
1️⃣ If you’re the smartest one in the room, you’re in the wrong room.
I had the privilege of speaking on a panel at Summit Canada in June alongside such impactful trailblazers in women’s sport. I learned so much and I hope to keep learning, listening, and growing so I can show up better for my community and the spaces I’m a part of.
2️⃣ You don’t have to be good at something to enjoy it.
In the world of social media, everything feels like a highlight reel. I miss the days of trying things, failing miserably, and laughing uncontrollably. Fun doesn’t only count when it looks aesthetic or perfect.
3️⃣ Some people are chapters in your story, not the ending of your book.
In May, my partner and I decided to end our 4 year relationship. Though it was hard, we don’t regret it because we learned so much about ourselves in the process.
4️⃣ You don’t need to turn every hobby into a stream of income.
In a world of “side hustles” and “the rich have seven streams of income,” it’s okay to have hobbies that don’t make you money, just passions you do for joy and to decompress from a busy life.
5️⃣ Resting isn’t a waste of time, it’s an investment in your productivity.
I first learned this at the end of 2024 after my most intense year of work and competing at the Paralympic Games. But I was reminded again this year when I didn’t give my body enough time to recover. I felt anxious about “not doing enough,” so I kept pushing. That eventually led to burnout. My body shut down… and I was forced to slow down.
6️⃣ One key trait about you doesn’t have to become your entire personality.
We’re multidimensional beings, we don’t need to niche ourselves down, despite what the internet tells us. I often feel pressure to only share about volleyball or my disability, as if I need one specialty to be valid. But even though I run a personal brand, I’m allowed to be well-rounded, curious, and share whatever feels true to me.
