was a pretty special time for us last year. Was it fiscally responsible⦠not even close. Was it a good idea while we were moving the studio⦠we didnāt die š¤·āāļø. Was it a very special moment in time that we got to share with a small group of people we are lucky to be in each otherās lives⦠yes.
I think for McCauley and I, it seemed like we had this little window where we could get all these people together and celebrate each other. All the work each model has done to not only advocate for themselves, but try and push the conversation around disability to the public as well.
What an amazing group of people. I canāt believe we got to be a part of it.

This summer we were lucky enough to have an intern, help us with some product photography, and editing. We quickly realized that this was not only really fun to work with, but he was really, really talented.
We adjusted our summer schedule a bit & decided to put an editorial shoot on Alexās plate. The first image is an un-edited shot from our first pass through the photos taken.
Super fun time working with Alex & friend of the studio Zac. We are pretty excited to go through all the shots and share them over the next bit:)
I also want to thank Matej from for setting up the internship & forcing us to take on an intern for the first time š .
Looking through some of the covers weāve sent out over the last few weeks there has been a good little group of blue covers:)
⢠Exius (Azure main | Cobalt details)
⢠Fadilah (Azure main | Baby Blue details)
⢠Stealth (Cobalt main | Black details)
⢠John Paul (Navy main | Baby Blue details)
⢠Gaia (Baby Blue main | Porcelain details)
⢠Glide (Teal main | White details)
After thinking about it all morning, I decided to include Teal with the blues today. Let me know if you think Teal is a blue or green š
We are also doing a slight refresher, which is kinda fun.
Reach out if the website isnāt working like you are used to, and weāll figure it out on our end:)
Thanks for your patience!

Probably one of my favorite quotes, from one of my favorite shows (that just so happens to go well with photos of one of our best friends, shot by one of our best friends studios:)
Also, once you know itās a Moira Rose quote, itās impossible not to read it in her voice ā¤ļø

We are lucky enough to work with a few hundred prosthetists across the USA, Canada, and Australia (and a few more sprinkled around the world). Ensuring you get the fit you expect, and the specific needs of your setup are addressed.
As far as the aesthetic goes, sometimes itās nice to have a subtle difference between the two legs. The red & blue stripes play off each-other well, but arenāt too matchy-matchy.
Photos:
Sometimes itās hard to tell on insta (because everything is formatted to fit a square), that every single cover is a different shape and size.
We werenāt too scientific about taking the photos, and itās not an exact āhereās exactly how different they are in sizeā kinda thing. (They also switch between right & left leg)
But itās fun, and I think itās interesting to see:)

I think the best comparison for smooshing art and design into the same product is like thinking of art as the heart, and design as the brain.
Art is generally something that generally speaks to your heart, something that moves you for some reason, something a little more emotional than rational.
While design generally deals with the more rational side of things. How things work, how things fit, insurance coverage, compliance, production systems, costs, communications⦠technical stuff.
I think there is a lot of magic when you can combine them both. Things that speak to the heart, but work in real life situations.
I always hope that we provide value to both:)

Balloon Dog:
(Jeff Koons balloon dog has been easily one of my favorite works of art. Itās so perfectly executed, so clean, but also so nostalgic and fun. I also love that you can buy small versions like the studio:)
Instead we decided to shoot in the desert (Joshua Tree, just outside LA). It felt slow, quiet, timeless, almost surreal. We wanted the shots to feel more like āA Horse with no Nameā by America.
Nice & slow.
Nice & simple.
The proportions are based on each personās specific measurements, amputation level, and adjustments based on their prosthetic components.
The design and colors are chosen by the person. (Iāll have to do a post sometime soon that shows a wider range of color selection. I just thought it was kinda neat these four left the studio this week;)
