❗️A single methodology for gender-responsive budgeting will be introduced and applied across all Union programmes and activities.
❗For the first time, Member States will be required to carry out gender impact assessments for their national plans, with each initiative evaluated according to its contribution to equality.
➡ Reason for the change: the lack of common rules and concrete targets has led to uneven application of equality principles and missed opportunities for women and men to benefit equally from European investments.
📣 The new approach aims to make equality a real criterion for the effectiveness and fairness of the EU budget. The gender equality indicator is so important because it allows the EU to measure the real impact of its policies on people and ensure that every euro contributes to a sustainable society.
