A big large bowl and gong setup hits differently than a travel-friendly bowl and chime kit. Listen to your body and think through the logistics of how often you’ll travel. There are options for everything so having this in mind matters.
3. What is your budget?
Quality matters! You don’t have to start with everything. Build slowly and intentionally.
You can always add. Every time you consider adding something new, come back to the same question - what is the intention? If you can’t answer that clearly, it can wait.
Start small, build the relationships and feel into how you want to expand over time.

🔔 Frequency: the sound itself. The bowl, the gong, the voice, the vibration moving through the space.
🐚 Intention: a wish, a thought, an experience you’re holding. What you’re bringing into the sound.
✨ Healing: defined entirely by the person experiencing it. Not by the practitioner, not by the instrument, not by the “right” frequency.
This equation comes from Jonathan Goldman, a pioneer in the sound healing world, and it’s stayed with me because of how much weight it puts on intention. The sound is only half of it.
Two people can play the exact same instrument in the exact same room and create completely different experiences, shaped by what the practitioner is holding internally, and by the receptivity of the person in it.
And that word, healing - it carries a lot. We’re in a moment where performative wellness is everywhere, and a beautiful aesthetic setup can be mistaken for a healing space. Truth is, healing can look like a lot of things.
Creating a space where people can actually drop in and heal takes deep care, vision, and intention. There are specific things to consider and hold as a practitioner to make that possible so that however healing shows up for each person, there’s real space for it.

It is all about relationships - with the plant, the earth, the animals, the people who all come together for cacao.

That’s exactly why I knew I had to visit Guatemala before deciding to source and share this cacao with my community.
I recently added the Mama Amor origin to the collective, and the response has been beautiful. Knowing that I walked this land, heard and felt the women sharing their story of growth, and felt the care woven into every step of the process - that is a gift I will hold forever from during our facilitator training.
This is how we’re meant to know and love cacao - with purity, intention, and relationship. 🤎

Most practitioners I know [myself included] started before they felt “qualified”. I hadn’t even done my first sound training and I was already on the schedule to share sound. (This freaked me out!)
But in hindsight, it was the push I needed to just do it and figure it out. To do the training, get the instruments, connect, practice, script my opening, practice, rest, practice, and then just show up to share.
This is exactly how you start - prepare intentionally, do, then reflect. And repeat.
The bowl doesn’t wait for you to feel confident. The room doesn’t wait for you to stop second-guessing. Your future students don’t wait for a version of you that has it all figured out. Because we’re constantly figuring it out.

Years ago, I was a school administrator running on empty - burnt out, disconnected, and desperately searching for a way back to myself.
Then I found sound.
Deep into the physical practice of yoga at the time, I needed a way to slow down and be present. My first sound bath was in a hot, dusty, cramped tent at a music festival - and it was pure magic, unlocking the path for me to see and feel the power sound has to shift our inner being.
These practices have carried me through some of my hardest seasons of life - burnout, health scares, moments of deep uncertainty - and slowly brought me back to myself. A fuller, more present version of me.
As a sound bath practitioner, yoga teacher, and mindfulness educator, my deepest motivation is twofold:

📚 Helping people learn to share sound in ways that are meaningful, intentional, and true to who they are
I’m a human first. Constantly learning. Constantly evolving. The practices I share are part of my life.
