I’m Ali- and I used to be a full time braider & barber. Then I made some silly song along videos and my account blew up (I’ve since lost a lot of followers since I stopped making sing alongs).

I’m also in school full time to earn a degree in mathematics because I’m in a career transition. I got sober over 8 years ago and about 5 years ago realized I wanted to get a degree. That turned into a new dream of becoming a math teacher. It’s weird- I’ve done hair for 12 years now but here we are.

When I got pregnant last year, my husband and I talked about taking a step back from cutting hair so I can move quicker through my college journey. Now I do hair once a week and is helping me create education content for all of yall while I have the time and he’s willing.

But I’m into so many more things than just braiding hair and I want to start posting about things I love that aren’t necessarily in my niche. But I’m also not a consistent content creator. My daughter, husband, dogs, school and sobriety come before this so there’s that. So here’s your warning that things might change and I’m here to educate but also let myself have some fun🤘🏼

And I get it- it’s a great style. But call it what it is- a twist. And people have been getting twists for hundreds of years! It’s a style meant to protect 4A-4C curl patterns and even smooth them out.

And I just wanted to highlight a few things.
1. Puff out the bubbles before putting all the rubber bands in. It’s going to save your hair from a lot of unnecessary breakage!
2.if you can- cut the rubber bands out, don’t pull them out. Again- saving from unnecessary damage.
3. Pair bubble braids with smaller rectangle sunglasses 🤘🏼
