Walking has been an absolute sanity saver for me the past few months… life has been lifeing in various ways (we all know that right?!) and I started late evening walks just to gather myself at the end of challenging days.
But it’s more than that. I can’t help taking photos… I’m not a photographer, but as artists we’re visual - we process the visual world, we create our own lens of colour collection or fragments that catch our eye.
When you’re creativity feels blocked for whatever reason, this is a way to stay connected, and maybe to become more aware of what you notice.
Walking and talking - sharing - in person, not behind a screen… is a way we can all connect. You probably do it already. (I hope so!)
So maybe sharing these thoughts will be nothing new, but I believe there is also magic when we get together.

I’ve been a bit obsessed recently with areas where saturation shifts in places where the value remains constant. So bright lime greens over a chromatic grey/green. Or this light cornflower blue which feels like it shimmers over the layers beneath that make a visual grey.
Still working out how this fits in with the idea of value contrast. But hey, it’s a nice problem to have!
