📍 Lac d’Esparron
Probably my favorite lake there.
The best thing to do is renting a kayak, paddle or little electric boat and going directly into the lower Gorges du Verdon.
You can go surprisingly far into the canyon — and the further you go, the calmer and more beautiful it gets.
Good to know:
• thermal boats are forbidden there → super peaceful atmosphere
• there are hidden little beaches all along the way
• parking becomes a nightmare in summer → go early if possible
📍 Moustiers-Sainte-Marie
One of the prettiest villages in Provence and 100% worth the stop.
What to do there:
• walk through the tiny streets
• browse the pottery shops
• climb up to the chapel viewpoint
• and don’t forget to look for the famous suspended star above the village ✨
📍 Lac de Sainte-Croix
Probably the most famous lake in the Verdon area.
Best things to do there:
• swimming
• pédalos
• kayaking at the canyon entrance from Pont du Galetas
The water color there honestly looks unreal.
Tip:
avoid the main beaches in the middle of the afternoon during summer weekends if you want something calmer.
📍 Gorges du Verdon
If you have a car: do the Route des Crêtes.
The viewpoints there are absolutely insane.
Best stops:
• Point Sublime
• Belvédère de la Carelle
• Balcon de la Mescla
And if you like hiking:
→ Sentier Blanc-Martel is the most famous one.
Honestly one of the most beautiful weekend trips you can do in Provence 🤍
Accommodation recommendation: ✨
Food recommendations:
→, Gréoux-les-Bains
→, Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon

If you’re visiting Provence, Aix-en-Provence is definitely a place worth saving for your trip. The city is only around 30 minutes from Marseille and perfect for a slow day walking through the old town, cafés and markets ✨

If you’re looking for something truly special to do in the south of France — this is it!!
A bike tour with 🚲 takes you through the most beautiful landscapes 🌿 but what makes it unforgettable are the people you meet along the way. The experience: small, authentic farms. Passionate winemakers 🍷 Real stories. You stop, you taste, you listen — and suddenly Provence feels completely different.
I didn’t expect it to be this special. And yes… I even witnessed the birth of two baby goats 🐐

Mein absolutes Must-do, Hidden Gem & Lieblings-Erlebnis in der Provence.

Mon must-do absolu, hidden gem & expérience préférée en Provence.

Welcome Laila and Violet to our little family 🐔✨
I hesitated for a long time… but now I’m honestly so happy we have them.
Even if they escaped on day one and I spent two full days running after them 😅
And slowly, this old shed is starting to take shape — plants coming next 🌿
Anyone here with experience keeping chickens? What should I know? 👀

Was muss ich beachten? 👀

Every year I get hundreds of messages asking:
“When is lavender season?”
“Where are the best fields?”
Here’s what you need to know:
💜 Lavender bloom in Provence
– Main season: mid-June to mid-July
– Peak: late June to early July
– Around Sault (higher altitude): often until late July
📍 Where to find the most beautiful lavender fields
– Valensole Plateau (the iconic endless purple)
– Sault (later bloom, quieter atmosphere)
– Luberon (fields near Gordes & Roussillon)
☀️ For the most magical photos:
Sunrise or sunset. Always.
Lavender season is short. Timing is everything.
Would you plan your trip just to see this? 💜

The past months haven’t been easy for me, and it hasn’t always felt natural to post only positive and beautiful things.
This is me this summer – in different moments where I tried to enjoy life and appreciate the good times, even while going through an emotionally difficult period.
What I notice: in this decade of life I react differently than I did at 30. I’ve learned to cope better with hard times – and still manage to see the beauty in the world. 💛
PS: Maybe you can see a touch of my melancholy and tiredness in some of the pictures – feelings that, nevertheless, cannot simply be switched off. 🌿
