LeTAO Melbourne is a cult-favourite Japanese dessert brand originally from Otaru in Hokkaido, Japan, best known for its “Double Fromage” cheesecake, which once you taste it, you’ll underatand.
The brand first opened in 1998 and built a huge following across Japan for combining rich hokkaido dairy with an ultra-soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture.
This was my second time visiting and I absolutely adore their cheesecakes. It’s a premium price but you won’t find a cheesecake like this in Melbourne. We tried their strawberry which was also phenomenal and their mochi cheesecake which I’m still dreaming about. Sylvie is decadent without being overly sweet, it’s perfectly balanced and if you love chocolate you’ll love this one!!
Definitely one to save and to try at least once!! You can also opt for a soft serve with a slice of their cheesecake which is my fave way to experience it!

Seed Bar & Restaurant is a modern Asian fusion restaurant on Chapel Street that evolved from the former Na He Bistro, keeping the same owners and approach while rebranding into a more polished, contemporary concept. The menu draws inspiration from Yunnan, Sichuan, Bangkok and Chang Mai flavours, with a fun take on a $59 feed me menu. The menu is simple, clean, not heavy & really surprised me. We all loved it.
Here is an overview of what we tried:
The FEED ME MENU: $59 PP includes
🌶️ Thai spicy lemon chicken — garlic, ginger, herbs & onion: great flavour & fresh- served cold 🦪 Natural oysters with apple, coriander & garlic dressing OR orange scallops with plum wine & lime- scallops were 10/10 🥭 Green mango salad with fennel, peanut, chilli & sweet corn: so so fresh! Great spice 🥩 Wagyu beef skewers with garlic- juicy & perfectly flavoured 🥔 Yunnan crispy potato pancake with chilli powder: fantastic 🐷 Grilled pork belly with lettuce, sesame & signature tomato sauce: delicious! 🍖 Mint crispy pork ribs with lemongrass: nice! 🍚 Shangli-La mushroom fried rice: I liked but not my fave 🥭 Coconut sago with mango & toasted coconut: soo yummy! Loved the little toasts for the crunch
We Also tried: 🦑 Wok-seared squid with lemongrass, chilli & ginger: spicy and super tender! 🥩 Lemongrass eye fillet steak with mushroom & cherry tomato: just ok 🍤 Crispy tiger prawns with pineapple & passionfruit mayo: incredible!
Overall a very cozy spot with staff who are super friendly and the food was perfectly spaced out for us. Great for a good value meal.

Auto Greek is a limited-time pop-up running at Bar Yarra until the end of May, created by chef. Inspired by his recent trip to Athens, the menu is a modern take on Greek cuisine, focused on generous, share-style dining.
We dined on the feed me menu which gives you Dip & Bread, 2 Appetizers, 2 Salads, 2 Roast & Grill, Chips & Dessert which is chosen for you on the day for the price of $79 pp.
Here is what we had:
🌽 Sweet corn, paprika butter, mizithra: sweet, buttery & a great corn dish
🥒 Zucchini chips, black garlic skordalia: favourite — so delicious, crisp, not overly oily, perfectly cooked and the skordalia was fantastic
🍟 Chips with souvlaki seasoning: so tasty!!! yum
🥗 Cucumbers, mint, olives, pistachio, feta: loved the combination of all of this & a great side salad
🥬 Politiki salata, shaved cabbage, pickles, nuts: not my ideal choice of salad. Was okay
🧄 Roasted beetroot & feta dip: fantastic, creamy & a deep beetroot flavour, loved the crunch of the walnuts
🍗 Chicken paidthakia: juicy & flavoursome, great char
🐖 Pork pancetta: just okay, not my style of pork
🍮 Rizogalo: fantastic, 10/10 with salted caramel. A huge dessert to finish with. Wish we could’ve eaten it all. It was amazing
The feed me menu was huge and we rolled out of there with leftovers for the next day. It is definitely good bang for your buck. The service was fantastic, cocktails were good & a great spot to pop in for some reimagined Athenian food.

Thanks and for having us on for a pretty chaotic yap. We definitely need a part 2 (or 3!) to get into more details on some topics!

“What really happens behind a Melbourne food review? This week, and sit down with Steph from and Alex from to talk honest reviews, paid collabs, restaurant pressure, hidden gems, travel eats, and the parts of food content people don’t always see. Four food lovers, plenty of opinions, and a few things that probably had to stay off-air.”

Bistro X is located within in Fitzroy. A very design-led hotel that still feels relaxed and approachable rather than overly polished or formal, fitting right into the suburb of Fitzroy.
The restaurant carries that same energy: elevated but still very neighbourhood bistro, where you can actually just go for a great meal without it feeling like a big occasion.
Head chef is behind the kitchen and he’s worked across some seriously respected venues including Vue de Monde, Omnia Bistro & Bar, Pure South Dining, Tenable Dining and The Ledbury in London.
We went for the Tuesday night steak night which includes a 250g wagyu rump with chips, a fantastic house made salad and delicious peppercorn sauce. I would go as far as to say it was absolutely faultless. We would have licked our plates clean if we could have. The small snacks were fantastic. Both were incredible and must orders, with the rostis made with noneother than Hawkes Farm potatoes.
The desserts were both 10/10 with our most fave being the Black Forest which hit every texture necessity.
They also have a Thursday wine and dine menu which involves 5 courses for $75pp which I will absolutely head back for

We visited for takeover by head chef Matthew Butterworth aka Butters on May 3rd and they created a spin on a New York vibe featuring:
🍔 A BEC burger: featuring a beef patty, provolone, braised bacon, egg yolk jam, fermented green chilli and pickled tomato. It was absolutely fantastic, so perfect
🍅 Loaded fries topped with a vodka sauce, straciatella and salami crumble. This was magical and I could’ve had one of these to myself.
🍸 Woo-York Sour: pretty, pink, sour, sweet. The perfect allrounder cocktail. Done to perfection
The rest of their cocktail menu is fantastic. They do one of my favourite martinis in Melbourne. So if that is your love language, stay for a few & enjoy like us! The sunset views are magical from here.
