Mit unserer Wolf Doku konnten wir einen genauen Blick auf die Arbeit von und Romeo werfen und konnten feststellen, dass die beiden einen unheimlich wertvollen Beitrag zur wissenschaftlichen Datensammlung von Wölfen beitragen und somit den faktenbasierten Schutz vorantreiben. In Zeiten von riesigen Kontroversen, emotional-überladenen Berichterstattungen, Fake-News und Instrumentalisierungen sind wir sehr dankbar mit solchen Menschen / Hunden zusammenarbeiten zu dürfen. 🫶🏻
EN) I’ve been sitting in my little hide for hours, gazing into the distance. In front of me, nothing but emptiness, a meadow slowly being bathed in the light of the rising sun. A spark of hope burns within me, a spark of hope that that silhouette I know all too well will appear on the horizon. Then, after a while, a shadow appears on the horizon. A wolf crosses the meadow and approaches me. Overwhelmed with happiness, I grab my camera and slowly start taking pictures, full of awe of this moment. Enzo, the father wolf of the pack I’ve been following for so long, walks past me a few meters, stops for a moment, gives me a quick glance, and continues on his way. After months without an encounter, this is the reward for the days and hours of staring into the emptiness and a gift from nature. Getting so close to wolves is something indescribable, at least for me. Thank you, nature, thank you, Enzo.

DE) An einem kühlen aber wunderschönen Morgen im Frühling streift en einsamer Wolf durch das ruhige Wasser eines Gewässers. Kurz danach betritt der Wolf, inmitten des dichten Waldes eine Schneise, in der das goldene Licht der Sonne die Blätter zart berührt. Dort, in diesem magischen Moment, verharrt der Wolf, umhüllt von der Stille des Waldes und der Wärme der Sonnenstrahlen, ein Bild zeitloser Schönheit und Anmut. Kurz darauf verschwindet der Wolf in der Tiefe des Waldes.
Ich bin froh diesen Moment mit meinem guten Freund geteilt zu haben.

Hour after hour elapses when finally a shadow moves through the ice cold water. For a minute I forget my cold hands and all the struggles. His eyes are mesmerizing and I can’t stop looking into them. Happiness is the only feeling I feel. With over 70 encounters with wolves in the wilderness I never felt fear or a similar feeling. I am thankful for every second that a wolf decided to spend with me. For our ecosystem they are a keystone species which influences many other species in a positive way.
Long live the Wolf!
DE) Der Wind pfeift durch den herbstlichen Wald, während ich direkt neben dem Fluss sitze. Seit Tagen sind meine Hoffnungen groß, mein Lieblingstier zu treffen, ein schwer fassbares Gespenst, den Eurasischen Wolf.
Stunde um Stunde vergeht, als sich endlich ein Schatten durch das eiskalte Wasser bewegt. Für eine Minute vergesse ich meine kalten Hände und all die anderen Widrigkeiten. Seine Augen fesseln meinen Blick und ich kann meinen Blick nicht von ihnen lösen. Glück ist das einzige Gefühl, das ich fühle. Bei über 70 Begegnungen mit Wölfen in der Wildnis hatte ich nie Angst oder ein ähnliches Gefühl. Ich bin dankbar für jede Sekunde, die ein Wolf mit mir verbracht hat. Für unsere Ökosysteme sind Wölfe eine sehr wichtige Art, die andere Arten positiv beeinflusst. Lang lebe der Wolf!
