It’s incredible what human connection gifts us. Hannah, Steven and I had been talking on facetime for over a year. I felt connected with them, their story, their vision…I felt at ease, appreciated and welcomed to their life. Tonight, I was reminded of the deep gratitude I feel for the life I’m living. It’s the kind that sneaks up in quiet moments when the world seems to pause.
I’m lucky to have a friend who challenges me to reflect and grow. Tonight as we have a bite in the streets of Cairo before shooting a wedding, he asked, “If you could be doing anything in this life, what would it be?” The question sparked a realization I might’ve otherwise missed. After a pause, I answered what felt more like a truth being confirmed than a statement being made:
“Exactly what I’m doing.”
There’s a calmness in knowing that despite the chaos and constant pursuit of more, sometimes what we have is already everything. Is what we’ve dreamed of.
For me, the essence of life is found in the humanity we experience. I feel incredibly fortunate to be called to LIVE fully and to savor every connection. To see the beauty in everyone, every day.
