Located in Sequim, Washington this family-owned landmark has been delighting visitors since the 1950s, blending the charm of a traditional petting farm with the thrill of a self-guided drive through safari. Along the route, you’ll come face-to-face with yaks, bison, brown bears, llamas, and more; animals that seem to appear right at your window, often with curiosity, personality, and yes… the occasional slobber or surprise kiss.
What makes this place even more special is its story. Olympic Game Farm once worked closely with Walt Disney Studios, providing animal actors for classic films. Over time, it evolved into a sanctuary dedicated to the care, conservation, and well-being of animals in need. Today, more than 200 animals call the farm home, each cared for with intention and respect.
The experience is completely self-paced and wonderfully hands on, where everyone is learning something new along the way. It’s educational, slightly wild, and unforgettable in the best way.

This is Bonanza Flat in the heart of autumn. A place where Park City’s mountains ignite in fiery golds and warm ambers, and every bend in the trail feels like walking through a dream.
Our favorite family-friendly trailhead is Little Joe to Bonanza Loop. It’s a 4-mile loop, with 574 ft of elevation gain, taking about 1.5–2 hours to complete. It winds through shimmering aspen groves and along open ridge lines with sweeping views you can’t help but to stop to soak in.
And getting there is part of the fun. With extremely limited parking and no street parking allowed, Park City makes fall exploration simple with the 9 Purple Bus Route — running Friday through Sunday all season long. Buses stop at both Bonanza Flat and Bloods Lake every 20 minutes. The boys loved the bus ride and we ate snacks while on the road to fuel up for the days adventure.
So pack a picnic, take the ride, follow the color, and let fall unfold around you.

Our favorite hike in Lake Tahoe was by far Cascade Falls — where Tahoe’s wilderness meets roaring snowmelt waterfalls, sun-warmed granite, and views that hit you long before the trail’s end.
This out and back trail is only 1.3 miles round-trip, with 209 feet of elevation gain, that lasts roughly an hour from start to finish. The trail itself is mostly gentle with a few bouldered sections that winds through towering pines, across natural stone steps, and along rocky ridge lines with breathtaking views of Cascade Lake & Emerald Bay.
At the falls, everything slows. Granite slabs serve as the perfect place for a picnic and the cold mountain pools become perfect places to dip your feet.
