Here’s what you need to know before you go (save this post!):
⛸️ The skate trail is a 1.3 km loop of pure magic winding through a beautiful birch tree forest.
💲Buy a Pass online before you arrive ($10 Single Day Pass, $25 Family Day Pass, Kids 6 & under are free).
❄️ The natural flow of the skate path includes some slight hills and helmets are recommended.
🪑There are picnic tables & benches for putting your skates on and warming huts available for when you need a rest.
🔥You can grab a warm beverage & snack from The Wishing Tree Cafe and relax & warm up at the outdoor fireplaces nearby.
🐾 Dogs, sleds and strollers are not allowed on the ice path.
🎶 Music is played throughout the trail and LEDs light up the path after dark.
⛸️ No skate rentals onsite.
🎿 Kivi Park also has over 55kms of trails for winter activities including snowshoeing, cross-country skiing (classic & skate), fat biking and hiking.

Arrowhead Provincial Park Ice Skating Trail is one of our favourite places to skate in Ontario, Canada!! 🇨🇦
🌲The skate path is a 1.3km loop that winds through a gorgeous forest.
❄️ The trail is wide and fairly level the whole way
around.
⛸️ Ice skates are available to rent at the park.
🎟️ Arrowhead is a very popular park, so make sure to book your vehicle permit online up to 5 days ahead of time.
🎿 Arrowhead also has 28 km of classic cross-country ski trails, 16 km of skate ski trails and 6km of snowshoeing trails.
⛺️ Winter campsites and cabins are also available to book.

The Skateway is 7.8km long and the largest skating rink in the world!
Was it worth the 6 hour drive to Ottawa to skate on the canal last year and then drive right back home? YES!! Absolutely!
When we got to Ottawa, we realized that we had forgotten all of our skates at home 😩 Skate rentals are available, but unfortunately did not work with our schedule. We ended up going to Canadian Tire and buying new skates. It was a more expensive trip than we anticipated, but I would do it all again!
