The event will also feature shelter partners and, where guests can learn more about training, animal welfare, and programs that support shelter pets on their journey home.
As part of the celebration, adoption fees will be waived for all available shelter pets!

As crews surrounded the fire, they discovered three kittens inside a tunnel used for water overflow beneath the roadway. Firefighters safely rescued the tiny trio from harm before extinguishing the remaining fire.
After spending some time at Station 30, the kittens were turned over to San José Animal Care and Services

Last week, our Animal Services Officers had the opportunity to visit a local South San José preschool as part of the students' Community Helpers unit.
Our officers team spent time teaching the children about animal services, pet safety, what to do if they find a lost pet, and how microchips help reunite pets with their families. The students even got hands-on experience practicing microchip scanning with plush pets
Each student also received Junior Officer stickers and pet safety coloring pages to take home and share with their families.
The visit left a lasting impression. After the presentation, the children spent the rest of the day pretending to be Animal Services Officers and sharing what they had learned with their classmates.
We are grateful for opportunities like these to connect with young community members and help teach the next generation about responsible pet care and animal welfare. Thank you to the preschool staff for welcoming us into your classroom and making the visit such a memorable experience!
