today is mental health awareness day and I wanted to share some thoughts…
do you remember when we couldn’t talk about mental health? or when we couldn’t even share our feelings about sadness and worries? we are struggling with that as society but for sure we’re better than before!
while I was on my mission I started feeling extremely anxious, worried, fearful, and out of nowhere I had a hole in my heart that was all emptiness. i didn’t know what that was, therefore I didn’t know how to ask for help.
i thought that believing in God would help me overcome it… it did, but in ways I never thought of. he’s been my anchor and my strength.
it has taken me two long years to accept that it is okay if we sometimes experience some really uncomfortable emotions. that is TOTALLY fine to seek help from mental health professionals, and that that actually doesn’t make us weak but strong!
I’m so glad that now I can speak openly about this struggle, because many of us go through it and none of us has to go through it alone. im glad that little by little this has stopped being a stigma.
if any of you struggle with mental health, seek help! you’re so valuable, God loves you! taking therapy and taking medication are actually a blessing from God that you can use to heal! you’re enough! there is always light at the end of the tunnel ✨

one of my first days here I went to this is the place monument and I felt the spirit really strong; it’s not that I always have these huge feelings in my heart telling the truth of things, I actually doubt about some stuff sometimes, but when I visited this place, all those doubts became feelings of peace.
Utah was not the place i wanted to move to… but now I’m sure that this is as well my promised land!
