I realized while being in my hometown for the holidays that this would be the perfect area to do a shoot like this (and perfect opportunity to take advantage of the free childcare while we are staying with family😉)! I didn’t grow up with farm animals but I grew up right next door to them so this brought back so much nostalgia for me. I ran to Goodwill the day before and gathered as many J Crew / Ralph Lauren inspired clothes as I could find! 😆🙌🏻

The year I became a mom.
To say there’s a lot I’ve learned is an understatement.
While I was pregnant, I made a collage of photos, Bible verses, and quotes that hangs right next to my bed — something I could look at daily for encouragement. One of them says, “Calm seas never made a skilled sailor.”
That has rung so true this year as I’ve learned what it looks like to be a mom, a wife, a friend, and especially a business owner with a baby on my hip.
Motherhood has taught me that I am far more capable than I ever thought when I push through hard things. It strips away pride and replaces it with a humbled resilience that refines everything in your life.
I’m learning how to show up imperfectly, love deeply, work hard, and trust God with the rest — even when the seas feel anything but calm.
I’m so grateful for the immense amount of blessings this year has brought. I wouldn’t trade any of it for the WORLD❤️.
