It's deeper, sadder and sweeter all at the same time. It reminds me of all times where it was me and her against the world.
All the times we held each other's hands, hugged each other and stood up for each other.
It reminds me of my relationship with my own mother, and how much it's changed since. And though there is kindness now, I don't think I've processed the pain.
The longer I am a mother, the more I question if I was a daughter.
I think perhaps right now, there are more tears than joy.
I know with time it will change. I'm counting on it.
After all, in her words, we are BFFs.
We'll take on the world together.
