El proyecto comenzΓ³ por preservar la preexistencia. Aunque el edificio
no poseΓa un valor histΓ³rico evidente, dentro del tejido urbano mantener
la memoria resulta mΓ‘s pertinente que sustituirla por un objeto ajeno. La
continuidad tambiΓ©n es una forma de inversiΓ³n.
El galerΓ³n, en cambio, debΓa retirarse, y al hacerlo emergiΓ³ un vacΓo de 11 Γ 24
metros. MΓ‘s que ocuparlo todo, decidimos estructurarlo con dos pabellones
casi idΓ©nticos de 6 metros de ancho que satisfacen el programa, optimizan la
estructura, permiten iluminaciΓ³n natural constante y modulan eficientemente
los espacios de trabajo. Al mismo tiempo, los pabellones dignifican el vacΓo
mediante dos patios cuya vocaciΓ³n no es cuantificable, pero se acerca a lo
sublime: el jardΓn.
Partiendo de ello definimos que el ingreso, a la usanza de Guadalajara, sucede
mejor a travΓ©s de un jardΓn. Entonces el primero de los patios se convirtiΓ³ en
vestΓbulo abierto: una amplia marquesina remetida con Γ‘rboles medianos que
filtran la luz, un suelo de piedra permeable que permita al musgo colonizar las
juntas, y una fuente que actΓΊa como umbral sonoro entre exterior e interior.
