Most days, I still feel like I fall short of the mum I wish I could be. But we’ve actually come a long way. I definitely didn’t imagine my kids would be talking to AI—and all within the last five years.
How we use our time depends on how much time we believe we have left. The future may not be within our control, but right now is.
Take each day as it comes, as if it were your last. 🤍
This summer I want to focus on positivity. Positive reinforcement with the kids, and lots of time together before school starts next year.
It’s easy to think it’s all too hard, because it is. But they do grow up so quickly.
This summer, I want to remind myself to pause, breathe and let them be little. 💛
It’s a great place for them to create and calm down after a long day at school.
I set it up upstairs because our carpet is really old. Knowing we’ll replace the carpet and repaint the wall in a few years brings me peace 🤣😅.

I get so mad sometimes when he talks like a 15yo, and acts like a 0.5yo. But the truth is he’s not 15, and many things we thought was easy, it was not easy for them. The things I once worried so much about, he eventually caught on.
I am reminding myself to be a little bit more patient today. There are a lot of small things to be grateful for, and nothing lasts forever.
Thank goodness he’s not 15 yet.

With the upcoming spring and the kids becoming older, it almost feels like I’m heading into a new chapter.
Lately I’ve just been thinking, when do I send her to childcare? Should I send her to childcare? What am I to do with myself?
All these nights and days when they won’t sleep I dreaded those deadly moments and hoping they could grow up soon. But now I’m also not sure if I’m ready to let go.
I realised I am perhaps running on borrowed time being home with the kids. A new rhythm is needed for me to feel grounded and maximise this experience.
I feel so much happier after writing this rhythm down.
For a long time I’ve been wanting to homeschool but the days when I’m home with the kids I get so tired and grumpy I doubted my capability of doing that. I think I’m now mentally ready to do a bit more, and to keep her home a bit longer.

We recently set up this space and big bro is loving it! A station like this encourages him to do more arts and crafts activities voluntarily, otherwise unless I prompt him he’d be driving his cars around all day 😅
The items we have at the moment are relatively very simple comparing to most art trolley I saw online. I’m sure with the growth of both kiddos the space and items would expand.
What we have:
- IKEA height adjustable table and chairs (what we love about it - price, grows with our child, big real estate for action, the surface can tilt and there’s also a place for paper roll which I have currently taken out)
- IKEA easel (whiteboard and blackboard, sadly it’s not magnetic)
- Rectangular basket from Kmart
- An artificial pot plant for a cozy vibe
I’ll do a tour in a reel to show more of the details of the tubs and drawers.
