is a hidden Italian gem here in San Antonio. They been up and running for years, and are a solid neighborhood favorite. Choose between their many pizza, pasta, and calzones, and be sure to grab some starters (the spinach & ricotta rolls are a must!). They have a bunch of vegan options as well, even dessert!
The food is delicious, handmade, and fresh. I was blown away by the calzones and spinach ricotta rolls. Or grab one of their GIANT slices! So much flavor!
What made this place memorable for me (aside from the food of course) was the friendly staff and neighborhood vibe. It’s such a comfortable spot to frequent or order out from! Definitely worth visiting 🫶🏼

Elsewhere Too features cool photo-ops and activities, like its own 53-foot ferris wheel and live shows & performers. They also have a food menu, fire pits, mocktails/non-alcoholic options and so much more making it a one-of-a-kind patio in the city! It’s family-friendly until the evening time too!

is hands-down one of my favorite places to get ice cream in town. They opened just last year, popping up at markets and now they have their very own food truck stationed at on Saturdays (1-8 pm) and Sundays (1-7 pm)!
They sell flavors like lychee strawberry, Vietnamese coffee, ube, and their two newest, mango sticky rice and green thai tea oreo! I recommend getting their ice cream flight so you can try them all 😍
Aside from their location at the SA Yacht Club, you can also find their ice creams throughout town at,, &, to name a few!

opened its doors earlier this year and San Antonio is loving it! Located at ‘s Bottling Department, it’s the only known eatery there serving a HALAL bone-in chicken option for guests! James Beard nominated Chef Nicola Blaque has done it again! Staff even mentioned that the fried chicken concept was also recently nominated for a James Beard Award, which is absolutely crazy! Congrats to them🥇
made her newest concept as inclusive as possible. The bone-in chicken options are HALAL & all of the chicken offered (both bone-in & boneless) is gluten-friendly too! They even serve up a vegetarian tofu “chicken” option! It’s all so good and so many people are calling it the best fried chicken in town!
Of course, the menu isn’t complete without sides! Grab some mac ‘n’ cheese, seasoned fries, potato salad (ask for without bacon bits if you eat halal) & more!
For historical context, Freight Chicken was inspired by black women who sold fried chicken in post Civil War America to rail passengers traveling through Gordonsville, VA. These women, dubbed “Waiter Carriers”, had chicken recipes so famous that travelers would go out of their way just to try it! The fried chicken sales helped formerly enslaved women in terms of financial independence & racial progression!
