The Journey to Healing
Mental health is everything. I know this because I’ve been to the darkest places and fought my way back.
When I was heavily pregnant with our second child, our 2 year old daughter was diagnosed with autism and a speech impairment. That moment changed everything. I felt an intense mix of sadness, anger, and guilt. I questioned if I was strong enough to handle it. After having our son, I suffered from severe depression. The weight of motherhood, sleepless nights, and the overwhelming emotions that came with her diagnosis were suffocating. I had many dark moments when I genuinely thought I couldn’t cope any longer.
At the same time, I was working as a midwife, a career I had dedicated myself to for years. It was rewarding but also exhausting, both physically and emotionally. I was constantly giving to others while struggling to keep myself together.
I knew something had to change.
Through my own healing journey, I discovered the power of self-care, mindfulness, and the importance of slowing down. That’s when I made the decision to step away from midwifery and create something that truly aligned with my soul - a head spa business. I wanted to help others find the peace and relaxation that I so desperately needed during my hardest times.
Now, my business isn’t just about scalp health or relaxation, it’s about creating a sanctuary for people to breathe, reset, and prioritise their well-being. It’s a reflection of my journey, my struggles, and my belief that we all deserve care, love, and moments of pure peace.
To anyone struggling: I see you. I’ve been there. And I promise, there is light ahead. Never be afraid to choose yourself.
