What makes message different is that it starts from first principles. You don’t have to agree with everything immediately, but when you actually listen, you’re forced to confront the logic. You walk away thinking, “Yeah, that makes sense.” Not because of hype. Not because of credentials. Because the reasoning holds up when you follow it to its conclusion.
At some point, you have to decide whether you’re going to listen to noise or listen to signals. Noise is popularity, trends, and people arguing online. Signals are results. Signals are people moving better, getting out of pain, improving their posture, regaining athleticism, and doing things they couldn’t do before.
Thousands of people around the world are getting helped by applying these principles. Don’t get distracted by the crowd yelling from the sidelines. Pay attention to what’s actually producing outcomes. Results have a way of cutting through the noise.

The danger is that someone with scoliosis, knee valgus, a herniated disc, chronic pain, or a dysfunctional gait pattern sees a message like this and starts believing they can simply think their way out of a physical problem. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work that way. We don’t solve wars by pretending they don’t exist. We don’t solve world hunger by wishing it away. And we don’t solve physical dysfunction by ignoring the mechanics that created it.
If you’re dealing with a physical problem, you need to understand the physical laws governing the system. Your body operates according to physics whether you acknowledge it or not. Force either transfers efficiently through your structure or it doesn’t. Your movement patterns either improve your organization or reinforce dysfunction. A positive mindset can help you stay consistent with the process, but it cannot replace the process itself.
That’s why I wanted to make this video. Not to dismiss the value of mindset, but to make sure people who are genuinely suffering don’t get tricked into believing that change happens through positive thinking alone. Real change comes from understanding how your body works and then consistently applying that knowledge.
That’s what the is designed to teach. It takes complex principles of biomechanics and breaks them down into practical steps that almost anyone can follow. You learn how posture, gait, and movement patterns affect the forces moving through your body, and how to begin improving them. Put in an honest effort, stay consistent, and your body will show you what’s real.

When you spend enough time around people who are truly dedicated to understanding human movement, you start realizing this goes far beyond fitness. It becomes a different way of looking at health, behavior, and responsibility.
At the end of the day, we only get one body and one life. Most people spend years searching for shortcuts, temporary fixes, or ways to bypass the hard reality that dysfunction has consequences.
What makes these courses different is seeing people from all over the world willingly take a hard look at themselves and decide to actually solve the problem at its root. Not cover it up. Not distract from it. Solve it.
That’s what makes these weekends powerful. You have practitioners, trainers, therapists, parents, athletes, and everyday people all in one room learning how to better understand posture, gait, leverage, rotation, respiration, and the systems that govern human function. Then they go back home and help other people do the same.
One of the coolest parts has been watching people return year after year. Their eyes change. Their understanding deepens. Their results improve. And as the system improves, the outcomes keep getting crazier. Better posture. Better movement. Less pain. Better athleticism. Better coordination. Better lives.
As Functional Patterns continues to grow, and more facilities begin to spread across the world, people are going to start feeling the difference firsthand. You can already see the shift happening. More people are beginning to realize that training the body as one interconnected system produces a completely different outcome than treating it like disconnected parts.
The momentum is building. And this is still only the beginning.

If you’re going to repeat something over and over, let it be the fundamentals, neutral standing posture, basic rows and presses, controlled rib rotation, and hip stability.
Most movement is really just a summation of simple patterns repeated like clockwork, rows, presses, flexion, extension, rotation, and stabilization. What happened here is I was in the garage doing some boxing, looked over, saw the and started thinking about how I could use that tool to create a better summation of forces through the body.
I’ll be honest, this is probably something I won’t do again for months, maybe even years. A lot of times I’ll stumble across a novel movement, post it, and then go right back to the basics. I spend way more time doing rows, presses, transverse twists, and chambers than I do repeating anything flashy.
That’s really the point of this post. Often times the novelty post is there to grab your attention and bring you here for the real message: focus on the fundamentals. Use novel movements to learn something, then let them go. Creativity doesn’t come from chasing novelty, it comes from understanding the basics so well that you can express them in endless ways.

We’ve already approved a number of applications that haven’t locked in their spot yet. If that’s you, don’t sit on it. Approval doesn’t hold your place. It’s still first come, first served. Someone else can come in today and take that spot while you’re waiting.
Reserve it or risk losing it.
This course isn’t just another certification you stack and forget. What you’re learning here is how your body actually works from the ground up. How to organize your posture so your joints stack properly. How to build real tension through your system so movement becomes efficient instead of stressful. How to walk, run, and rotate in a way that holds up over time.
That’s what most people never get. They chase workouts. They chase intensity. But they never fix the structure underneath it, so everything eventually breaks down.
Human Foundations is about fixing that base layer so you don’t have to keep circling back to pain, compensation, and wasted effort. It’s preventative in the real sense. You build something that lasts and frees you up to focus on your life, your work, your family, and whatever you actually want to get good at.
If you’ve already been approved, lock it in. See you there.

A lot of people think more stretching and more mobility automatically means a healthier body. But when your myofascial system gets too lax, you start creating too much space around the joints.
To explain it, I used weight plates. When there is space between the plates and you try to move the last one, everything becomes sloppy. You have to bang one plate into another just to get motion. That space creates guesswork.
Your body works the same way. When there is too much laxity in the tissues around the joints, every step becomes uncertain. You do not know exactly where your joints are going to land. Most of the time they land poorly, which leads to compression, dysfunctional movement patterns, and eventually pain.
This is why we focus on building proper tension in the body.
teaches you how to preload the system so the entire myofascial network works together. When you move, you are not dragging and sagging your structure around like a sack of potatoes. You are driving motion through organized tension that supports your joints and distributes force through the whole body.
That is what creates control, precision, and durability in movement. This is what you learn how to do in real life and in real time during courses.
If this example helped you understand something about your body, let me know in the comments what clicked for you.
And if you want to learn directly from me, there are a few spots left in my Human Foundations course in apply now and secure your spot. Link is in my bio.

With so much misinformation out there about health and fitness, our HBS program is a ship pointed in the direction of helping people understand that the map is not the territory.
Every practitioner who steps into this system is building their knowledge and understanding of how the human body moves. What’s learned here isn’t meant to stay theoretical. It is meant to be applied, refined, and pressure tested with real people facing real physical problems and movement limitations.
As more individuals step away from surface level solutions and toward biomechanics driven training, the standard continues to rise.
To everyone who attended, the work continues from here through your standards, your practice, and the people you help along the way.
If you want to start training in a way that will help you move better throughout life, the first step starts with the.

I came into Functional Patterns as a professional basketball player dealing with severe knee pain and looking for real answers.
Under Pablo’s guidance, I was able to fully resolve my knee pain — but the transformation went far beyond that.
My skin cleared up. My energy came up. My digestion and sleep normalized. I started feeling more buoyant and connected in my body. I even began dreaming more consistently.
More importantly, the mental shift was real. Better focus. Better decisions. Less impulsivity. Pablo didn’t just coach mechanics — he emphasized discipline, structure, and principles that forced real growth. That mentorship pushed me to level up, not just as an athlete, but as a man.
On the court, the results have been undeniable.
My lateral movement is the sharpest it’s ever been. I feel quicker, more fluid, and more efficient. My shot feels more consistent. I don’t need to stretch before games anymore. Instead of breaking down toward the end of seasons, I feel like I’m improving.
The last four years have been the strongest stretch of my professional career, and FP — along with Pablo’s mentorship — played a major role in that.
I’m grateful for the guidance and the standards he held me to. It’s been one of the most valuable investments I’ve made.

More improvements made by my student Keala.
Her elbows would hyper extend and scapulas would wing. Although there was no pain in her elbow joints we suspected this lead to the scapular dysfunctions that ultimately lead to her shoulder pains and problems.
After 20 in person sessions and 4 online sessions we no longer hyper extends her elbows and wings her scapulas. This has lead to a reduction in shoulder pains and an increase in ability to exercise and do a variety of physical labor such as building homes in her community without pain.
Way to go Keala. Keep up the good work 👍

You have been one of my top students coming in ready to listen and work. It’s been great seeing your transformation and for setting a great example for your family to follow. Keep it going as I look forward to seeing your continued progress.

Testimonial:
I was 4 months postpartum when I decided to try functional patterns. The changes in my body over the course of my pregnancy, as well as the sports injuries suffered from competing in the NCAA made it difficult to move athletically without pain and physical limitations.
Pablo has been a fantastic trainer. His knowledge of the human anatomy and biomechanics gave me a lot of confidence in the exercises he taught me. Working with him gave me a solid foundation to continue the work on my own. His attention to detail with my body’s movements and symmetry made all the difference in my overall results and I owe a lot of my gratitude to him.
Today I stand with firm belief that functional patterns has vastly improved my quality of life. I have not only learned an awareness of moving my body, but I also have a better understanding of the physical connections to make as I go about my day. My body is continuing to transform into a vessel that aligns with the active lifestyle I want to have. I no longer experience pain. And I look forward to continuing to develop my physical capabilities using functional patterns as the vehicle.
