This year, it wasn’t really that calm from a diary perspective, but I leaned into stillness in all the moments in between. I had the lurgy for about 10 days in the middle, so that was a much needed reason to slow down, and Christmas this year was so relaxed and peaceful.
We had a week without the kids which consisted almost entirely of sleep, good food, coastal walks, and movies. I’m not quite ready to emerge yet, so just leaving this here to honour to liminal spaces in between and the bliss of simple living.
It’s also a little reminder that nature is still very much asleep right now, so please don’t feel like you need to jump into 2026 with excessive spring in your step if you’re still feeling dozey. Remember that holistic wellbeing isn’t found in the extremes. Ever.
Slowly slowly. ❤️

I could give you the science, but I think we all know that by now don’t we?
In my opinion this is the most feel good way to start or end a cold dark day. And the community element is so important too. I always feel amazing after dragging myself out of bed and going to the sauna. If you’re not into the regular sauna life yet, I highly recommend it!
Important caveat: ladies, tune in to your cycle and don’t go in the cold if you’re in your late luteal phase or on your bleed, or just generally feel a bit burnt out. ❤️

I’ve been hot and cold on the gram for most of this year as I’ve had a number of different plates spinning alongside my own clinic ‘The Holistic Health Method’. I’ve also been doing my sound healing, and still working for a healthy building design consultancy, AND, more recently, I’ve been working for on their new service - Healf Zone. And I’m really loving it.
It’s been an amazing way to reach a much wider audience and help them on their health journey.
I think it’s an amazing option for people to just ‘’check-in” on their health, to monitor conditions, to take a preventative approach, to optimise, and generally, to take their power back. And it’s super affordable.

Many of us think nutrition is only about what’s on our plate. But the how and where we eat has just as much of an impact on how well our bodies actually use the food and our overall nourishment.
Today I had lunch in the garden, and here’s why this practice is far more than just a “nice-to-have”:
➡️ Better digestion When you eat in a calm, relaxed environment - ideally with elements of nature - your nervous system shifts into “rest and digest” mode. That means more stomach acid, digestive enzymes and bile are secreted effectively, helping your body break down food more efficiently. Aka less bloating, gas, indigestion and nutrients actually getting absorbed instead of wasted.
➡️ Improved nutrient absorption & blood sugar control When you slow down and chew properly, you naturally improve the way glucose enters the bloodstream. This steadier release helps prevent energy crashes and supports metabolic health. Pairing that with natural sunlight exposure improves nutrient sensing by influencing vitamin D synthesis and other mechanisms that regulate nutrient pathways.
➡️ Light nutrition from the sun We often underestimate how much natural light shapes our biology. Eating outside means you’re not only nourishing your body with food, but also nourishing your mitochondria and syncing your circadian rhythm which helps to regulate hormones like leptin, melatonin and cortisol. It’s nourishment that doesn’t come from your fork.
➡️ Mind-body nourishment Eating outdoors has also been shown to reduce stress and anxiety - via nature connection, sunshine and often a break away from work and screens.
With that in mind, I challenge you to eat outside this week while the sun is back out! Take a few slow breaths, put your phone away, and notice the flavours, textures, and the sunlight on your skin. Hopefully you can make it into a habit.
❓ Do you ever eat your meals outside? Have you noticed how it makes you feel?

I typically recommend that you “test, don’t guess”. However, there are a few supplements that I think the majority of people could benefit from, so long as the dosages are modest and the product is clean, bioavailable and high quality.
These products were gifted but there was no request for content, I just think that supplements are great quality and as a practitioner himself, knows what people need first hand. So here you go.

➡️ An estimated 1 in 4 people experience bad breath on a regular basis, and this is a message from our body that something isn’t quite right.
➡️ The tongue (especially the back) is the main source of bad breath, responsible for about 80–90% of intra-oral halitosis. That’s because the posterior dorsum provides an ideal haven for bacteria that produce foul-smelling compounds, and because a lot of people don’t think about cleaning the tongue!
➡️ Anaerobic bacteria flourish in the tongue’s grooves, feeding on dead cells, food debris, and saliva to produce volatile sulphur compounds (VSCs) think nasty odours.
➡️ Mechanical tongue cleaning (with a scraper) has been proven to significantly reduce tongue coating and bad breath, as long as you clean effectively from back to front. I recommend it before brushing morning and evening.
➡️ Some studies show tongue cleaning is twice as effective as tooth brushing alone in reducing bad breath by cutting down on bacterial load and VSCs.
➡️ It’s still important to brush and floss daily, but don’t leave your tongue untouched to contribute to oral dysbiosis all day and night. Your bacteria-breeding tongue will have a knock-on impact on increasing the risk of dental decay, gum inflammation and periodontal disease. These conditions then have a knock on impact on overall health - including increased risk of diabetes and heart conditions - because, guess what, everything is connected!
Add tongue scraping to your routine. It’s simple, quick, and scientifically proven to freshen your breath and boost oral hygiene. As a result, it will have a positive impact on digestive health and overall immune burden and inflammation in the body.
Do you tongue scrape? Let me know in the poll.

For a few years now, going to festivals like this (mostly wholly sober / feels like sober festivals) have been the anchors of my summers. The things that I look forward to all year because they are just totally magical. And I believe that come from pure connection to others, to nature and the elements (barefoot all weekend too), to our bodies (through dance and song), to the sun, the moon and the stars (outside all day), and to our truth - without work, the stresses of the world, phone signal, screen time or distractions.
While you might come home a little sleep deprived and exhausted from throwing yourself into it all, you also come away SO FULL of hope, joy, love, and a sense of belonging. And for that reason, I would choose a festival over a holiday every single time.
This year, I even got to facilitate at a festival for the first and absolutely NOT the last time. That really was a dream come true.
Scroll across to get a sense of the beauty of these experiences. Maybe next year you’ll consider coming too!
How do you feel about sober festivals?
Shots of and.
