I had these boho twists in for two months so it was time for them to gooooo! This is the most length I’ve ever retained with a protective style I was pleasantly surprised❤️❤️.
I haven’t had great experiences with protective styles in the past, but here are some tips. I’ve learned if you don’t want to have setbacks:
1. Find a braider that’s open to your suggestions and hairs needs, it’s also important that they are well versed in practicing proper hair care techniques. For me I look for someone with repeat clients that have long thick hair! If you’re in Houston I recommend 😍‼️
2. DONT neglect your hair. I’d recommend washing & conditioning at LEAST once a month. Also moisturizing as needed!
3. The most common mistake I see made is not properly detangling your hair after it has been in braids. If you do not THOROUGHLY detangle your hair to remove all the shed hair built up your hair will become a MATTED mess from hell! 😭 I made this mistake once and it took me hours to correct this and I lost over half my hairs density because of it. This is why you see me thoroughly going through my hair with a rat tooth comb in small sections.
