-One of the few recent pick ups that’s really blown my mind. Smaller brands in Japan are much better than smaller brands here in the states. You can really feel the craftsmanship behind this. The web reminds me of Ha-Seong Kim’s Rawlings from a year or so ago. Thanks to Owen for sending this over!

Nike SHA|DO Elite J [11.5”] Snake Eyes
-Here’s the 2025 infield version that Nike also released. This glove arrived slightly after the pitchers model. I like this one more to say the least. I think the color blocking is a lot better (albeit I prefer one whole color) and the swoosh placement is better.
-Out of the box, the glove is still dusty for some reason. In speaking with others that also picked up gloves from the recent drop (and the Griffey drop) this seems to be a common occurrence. The binding on the wrist also seems bent, like a Wilson 1724/B23. I am not sure if this was done on purpose, but it is more evident here than on the website. The foil stamping in the palm is also botched. I would have liked it to be more reflective of the website (which is much more clean). The pinkie is also shorter than the other fingers. I spoke with some people smarter than me and they said this is just the pattern. I haven’t seen too many gloves that are like this, however. I get asked why I am being so harsh on this compared to other gloves that I review…it’s really not that hard, the glove is $600 and therefore should be held to a much higher standard than a $300 glove. I will note that the glove is also incredibly light. It is slightly heavier than a REV1X, which is known for being one of the lightest gloves on the market.
-End of 2025/Beginning of 2026 Collection Update!
-Appreciate everyone I’ve met along this journey. This is gone beyond gloves and has allowed me to make some amazing connections. Excited for another year!

-Nokona EdgeX™ True Blue [12.00”] Utility Glove
-I was finally able to grab one of these for myself after seeing them online. This is one of the more polarizing gloves that have released in recent memory because they [checks notes] retail for well over $1,000 (this one was $1,200). No retail glove, in my opinion, is worth that. I know the history with this glove, made in the USA, individually crafted, etc., but still, way too high of a retail. Another gripe I have with this glove is the weight. It’s 747 grams, which is more than a primo of the same size (706 grams). That makes this glove, in my opinion, essentially unusable in game. This is a “utility” glove but it feels too small for outfield and too heavy for infield. I could definitely see pitchers liking it, however.
-On to what I actually like about this glove lol. The concept of the glove is so cool. Just as a collector and someone that appreciates new technology like this, I love it. Definitely a great glove for COLLECTORS (not players). I you have the chance to grab one for a really good price, I would strongly suggest it. Also the color way is cool on this one. The paint splatter on the shell back is a nice touch for sure.

Hi everyone.
Another year, another Elite J review.

This year, we once again got a pitcher’s model, but Nike replaced the outfield model with an infield model. Nike also stepped outside their usual monochromatic comfort zone, adding pink accents to a mocha and (almost) bruciato-colored leather, paired with camel accents.

[COLORWAY]
I actually don’t hate the colorway. It’s a subtle mix of classic glove colors with some of the newer pinks/blues (barf). Could it have been executed better? Yes. But overall, I think the color blocking works and holds its own.

[MODEL]
It’s listed as a 12”, but that simply cannot be true. I understand that closed-back gloves play differently than open backs, but I own multiple 12” closed backs that feel significantly smaller than this. I also compared it to last year’s 12.25” release, and it feels just as big—if not bigger.

I (and many others) have pointed out this strange “dust” that shows up on the palm. I tried to capture it in one of the photos (slide 7). I’m used to seeing this on Horween gloves, so I’m genuinely curious where this is coming from here.

The pinkie stall is incredibly tight (though probably adjustable), but overall, the glove is more comfortable than other closed-back gloves I’ve owned in the past.

[RELEASE]
Nike absolutely hates marketing these. Every year, they quietly drop them around the second week of December. While we did see a few teasers posted here on Instagram, a quick search across other social platforms showed the entire glove about a week before any official announcement. For future reference, I would start looking on X around the start of December to see full pictures of the glove.

I’ll be posting a more in-depth video at some point. I genuinely look forward to these releases every year—I just wish Nike put more effort into promoting them. I also wish Nike tapped into their athletes more. Years ago, we saw Trout, Kemp, and McCutchen model releases. Why not Skenes, Greene, or Skubal?

Just a thought.
Thanks for reading.
Happy holidays.

-Rawlings PROS207-9 [12.25”]…Big Bieber?
-Ordered this a while back and it came in super quick. I’ve been starved of a rich tan pro preferred, glad I could add one again. Yes, this glove was modeled off Shane Bieber’s glove. His is 11.75”, but I have an affinity for larger gloves. 12.25” is the perfect pitcher size imo. I also went thin on the heel pad for this, never done that before, but I really like it. Big shouts to

-New Balance A2KSO17, ~13”
-Almost a year after first posted this glove, we finally have a general release of the model. Limited to 50 units, the glove was exclusive to the new New Balance store in Brentwood, CA. The release started online where you had to reserve a ticket, then you picked up the glove in person.
-The glove is massive. It is clearly an A2K (just look at the model number), but features the iconic NB on the thumb, a 574 shoe on the wrist, the “new balance” along the middle finger. There is SuperSkin throughout the glove even in the palm, which I have never seen before. Ohtani’s number 17 is also on the pinkie.
-I love this glove. It is extremely comfortable and light weight. I want to thank for putting on such a great event. The overall presentation was amazing.
