During my time in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, one of my biggest takeaways was learning how to turn a simple idea into something scalable and intentional.
The Little Locals collection started one morning at breakfast with my girls, when I realized there wasn’t quite a line in Iowa City that felt like what I was envisioning. Something local but versatile. Classic but fun. A little funny, a little nostalgic, and wearable anywhere not just for one moment or one type of kiddo.
I’d seen shops in surrounding states doing this beautifully, and I kept thinking, why not here? Why not something that reflects the places we love, the community we’re raising our kids in, and the everyday moments that make a city feel like home.
This program helped me take that spark and shape it into a real product idea. And this is just the beginning 🌈
Being a mom is hard.
Doing both at the same time? Some days it’s everything.
Looking back at these last 4½ years, I’m reminded how lucky I am to grow a brand, raise my girls, and do work I truly love.

Four years ago, we opened our doors on Dubuque Street! We’ve grown so much since then, from our curated products to our incredible team and the amazing community that keeps showing up for us.
I’ll be honest... I almost let this milestone slip by. I’m in my quiet boss era right now… head down, working on the business instead of in it. Between the Goldman Sachs program and the rush of holiday prep, I’ve been a little behind on being as present and social in the shop as I’d like to be but I’m still here, and so excited for what’s ahead.
There are some big things in motion that I can’t wait to share when the time’s right.
Over the last 4 years, we’ve grown, learned, employed some amazing people, and connected with countless families who’ve made this shop feel like home. We’re here - and still here - because of you. Thank you for choosing us for your gifts and your own littles.

I started 223 Baby Co with one goal in mind: to create a space filled with beautiful, thoughtful, and safe products for babies + toddlers because our littles deserve the very best. From non-toxic toys to bamboo clothing, everything in this shop is hand-picked with love (and a whole lot of caffeine).
I’m passionate about supporting small makers, connecting with real families, and creating a shop that feels warm, welcoming, and a little magical.
When I’m not in the shop, you’ll find me chasing my two girls, cheering on other small businesses, or happily lost in an antique mall.
