Judi Green
Judi co-founded Tregony Contemporary Gallery in 2015. Her work is held in notable collections, including The Royal Collection, Dumfries House, Dawn French, Sir Clive Woodward OBE, Mr. Anthony Van Laast MBE, Sir Lenny Henry, The Peninsula Hotel, London and the Moritz-Heyman Collection, Borgo Pignano Italy.
‘I am a figurative painter working from direct observation, with a background in graphic design that informs my approach to composition and structure. My process involves deeply studying the relationships of light, colour, and form, capturing the spatial and atmospheric presence of a place. Using carefully observed shapes and layers of colour, I build a sense of harmony on the canvas, aiming to convey both the essence of a scene and the weight of time spent within it.’

LEARN A DYNAMIC APPROACH TO PORTRAITURE THAT BRINGS DEPTH AND ENERGY TO YOUR PAINTINGS
PORTRAIT PAINTING explains how to portray people in oils and acrylics by looking beyond likeness to light, shadow, colour and form. Instead of copying, you’ll be encouraged to see abstract shapes, experiment with colour and create portraits that feel alive, expressive and meaningful.

is a product of Philadelphia’s public school system. He entered the Pennsylvania Academy of The Fine Arts in the year 2000 receiving his certificate in 2004. His work has been exhibited at The Painting Center New York, The Woodmere Art Museum, Delaware Center For Contemporary Art, Rosenfeld Gallery, The Main Line Art Center, Seraphin Gallery, Artists House Gallery and Gross McCleaf Gallery. Select prizes include: Woodmere Endowment Fund Memorial Prize 2012, the Betsy Meyer Memorial Prize 2006, William Emlen Cresson Memorial Travel Scholarship 2004.
His work is held in various private and public collections, including the Woodmere Art Museum, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the Petrucci Family Foundation Collection of African American Art.
He is currently working from a studio in West Philly.
‘Translating what I find beautiful about the figure and processing the myths I grew up with through my personal filter. Any of my paintings will try to do both of these things to varying success.’

Peter Brown is an all-weather painter of street scenes and city landscapes. He never uses photographs or reference material, preferring to work directly from the subject on site, sometimes in the foulest of weathers, doing what he calls ‘see and put’.
The reaction of people to cultural and historical events often catches his imagination, and he can be found thick in the action with his easel amongst revellers at Glastonbury Festival or catching the queuing mourners in the days that followed the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Former president of the New English Art Club, Pete, along with irreplaceable veep, was a moderniser who sought to increase equality of opportunity, expanding the scholarship programme and seeking to align the organisation with equality law. If you’ve ever worked in a non-professional, volunteer-led charity, you’ll know that this energy is desperately rare. Since his term as president ended, he’s been painting New York, Glasgow, and recently, the Banksy unveiling.

Her work has hung in the National Portrait Gallery (BP Prize), and features in (among others) the Getty Research Institute collection, as well as in private collections internationally. She is one of my best buddies in the art world, a wise and generous person and (by all accounts) a fantastic teacher.
‘Portraiture has been my gateway to painting. As a child, a distant aunt drew a portrait of me that hung in my bedroom. I distinctly remember wanting to learn how to do _that_. It also shaped my understanding of portraitire: that one can be seen through the eyes of another, not exactly, not solely, as one perceives oneself, but also as that other image - whose likeness one can grow into or out of - which exists in parallel.’
