How to manage deliverables timeline in influencer campaign planning?

Quick answer

Manage deliverables by writing them into the brief: the exact posts, formats, dates, usage rights and number of revision rounds. Build the timeline backwards from your launch date with buffer for approvals and slow repliers. Track each creator stage in one place so a late draft shows up early instead of the day before go-live.

Every campaign we run slips. Creators post late, content needs another round of edits and we find out too close to launch. How do you actually manage deliverables and the timeline so an influencer campaign stays on track?

Put every deliverable in writing with dates and revision rounds. A schedule slips because nothing was ever actually agreed, not because creators are flaky.

Most slippage traces back to a vague brief. If the creator never agreed in writing to two feed posts and one story by a set date with one revision round, there is nothing to hold the schedule to. So make the deliverable explicit: format, quantity, dates, usage rights and how many rounds of edits are included.

Plan the timeline backwards. Start from the launch date, then work back through posting, final approval, revisions, first draft and contracting and add buffer at each step because someone always replies late. A plan with no slack is a plan that slips.

Then make status visible. Track where every creator sits, briefed, drafting, in review or scheduled, in one shared view. When a draft is late you want to see it a week out while you can still fix it, not the night before.

Plan backwards from launch and add buffer at every step. Someone always replies late, so a timeline with no slack is a timeline that breaks.

Keep status in one shared view. You want to catch a slow draft a week out while there is still time to fix it.
